  • This option includes the needed firmware. It can be easily flashed from the site. Follow the youtube video
  • V5 is easier to install because the communication lights will tell you when communication with the inverter is working
  • Both V5 and V4 have identical functions exposed to Home Assistant and will receive the same firmware updates going forward

This device plugs into the RS232 Port at the bottom of your Deye/Sunsynk inverter and connects to your WIFI. It exposes the inverter as a plug-and-play device in Home Assistant.

Description

Included:

  • Version 5 (ESP32C3) Wifi Dongle (Firmware included, self flash and upgrade)
  • Protective case (needs slight manual modification to fit the DB9 Connector)
  • External WIFI Antenna
  • DB9 Connector that plugs directly into your inverter

Nothing else is needed to install this dongle, it plugs directly into the inverter

RS232 Mode (Factory Replacement)

No Cables needed

Please note you need to unplug your factory dongle

RS485 Mode (Operation similar to the V4 Dongle):

This dongle can still operate in RS485 Mode (It will need to be reflashed for RS485 Mode).

In this mode you can still connect it to the RS485 port on the inverter. You might need to split the BMS485 port (depending on your inverter model).

The dongle accepts power from the inverter (Input 6-36V Allowed). If you inverter does not have 12V output then you can power it from the USB-C plug
